Fair Board

Did you know….. the present day fairgrounds was purchased in 1889? Total then was 41.9 acres. In 1893 an additional 57 acres was purchased. Lastly, in 1995 an additional 64.6 acres was purchased. The current total fairgrounds property is now 163.5 acres!

BONUS! “Did you know”……. The reason for the color on the home page header depicting Champaign County Fair? It represents the school colors of our Fair Queen. That’s the reason it changes yearly!

The Fair Board is made up of twenty-six elected board members rotating on three year terms. Two from each of the twelve townships, and two from the city of Urbana.
